About the Course...
If you have ever thought about starting up your own business, then this is the course for you!
Entrepreneurship 12 invites students to assess their entrepreneurial potential and challenges them to identify opportunities and to put the wheels in motion to develop their business ideas and business plan . Along the way they will develop teamwork skills as they problem solve, invent, innovate and evaluate their ideas.
This course is designed to be as hands-on as possible. Students will be involved in several team projects that require them to speak to and learn from business owners in the community. Projects are student designed and students will be given the freedom to establish the direction of their projects and to present their work in ways that best demonstrate their learning.
As students work in teams to develop a viable business venture, they will explore these key business fundamentals in a final presentation for a panel of guests:
1. Business description, vision and mission
2. Viability and market survey
3. Challenges and goals
4. Financial statements (12 month projection, income statement, start up budget)
5. Marketing (4 Ps, detailed marketing plan, pricing strategy)
